"The greatest tragedy in life is not unanswered prayer, but unoffered prayer"
F B Meyer Prayer breakfasts... Prayer Breakfasts begin at 8.30am with a light breakfast for 30 minutes. This is followed by an hour of prayer from 9.00 to 10.00 am. Prayer walks... The prayer walks in May and July will follow a route - with suggested 'prayer sites' and topics - which will be given to participants during breakfast (if there are sufficient people present, we may divide into two or more groups). By holding these events during the warmer weather, we trust that those who are unable to walk will feel they can sit somewhere along the route and pray. |
PrACT provides an occasional opportunity for Christians who live, worship and work in Beeston and the surrounding area. The call is to unite in prayer for our community and nation as well as for Christian work and witness in the area. PrACT is convinced that the answer to our deepest needs lies in the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. We meet in response to the Bible's commission: I urge then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone - for all those in authority; that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good and pleases God our Saviour, who wants everyone to come to a knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one mediator between God and men - the man Christ Jesus PrACT welcomes all Christians who share our concern for the nation at this time and want to see a transformation through prayer and action in the Name of Jesus. We aim to reflect a genuine unity and guidance of the Spirit under the authority of the Scriptures. To help us in this, we have informal links with a number of national prayer initiatives and organisations including the Evangelical Alliance (www.eauk.org). PrACT arranges prayer breakfasts on a bimonthly basis and other occasional events. The aim is to serve and not clash or compete with individual church programmes. Daily Prayer: if you wish to use a daily prayer guide covering areas of interest relating to PrACT's aims, we suggest you consider that produced by CARE - www.care.org.uk/resources/prayer |
